SKYWRITING

THE ULTIMATE ADVERTISING BILLBOARD!

Skywriting is not a new concept, it has been around for many years. Traditionally it was flown manually by a skywriting pilot who had learnt the art after much practice. Enter the computer era........we have now developed a computer/gps assisted system that greatly simplifies the flying of the letters. The system has been under development for more than a year and is the brain child of computer programmer/ Engineering student Etienne Phillips.

We were recently tasked with the writing of "Shell Fest Sept 21" for the Jeffreys Bay Tourism office. This was flown on the 1st of Jan 2001 over a very crowded Jeffreys Bay main beach. Although it was our first "write" and the sentence was longer than ideal the public response was amazing with a number of folks even finding us at the airfield after landing. The beauty of the system is that the audience sees the start of the writing and out of curiosity wants to see what is being written and will watch till completion. The advertising gains their attention for a relatively long period and hence has a better chance of remaining in their memory!

Below are pictures of what can be done.....

We "write" with our Bellanca Super Decathlon fitted with a very powerful smoke system which we developed for this purpose.

We are based in Port Elizabeth South Africa and can offer skywriting to clients in this area (or elsewhere in SA by arrangement).

In the future we may make the system available to other pilots / operators .....contact us for details.
